Think Think Think has always baffled me. My favorite explanation for that one? That’s all you get. Three and then you’re done. ~grin~

Yeah, you usually hear that your mind is enemy territory, that getting isolated in your own head is dangerous, that my best thinking took me to my bottom, and there is the prospect that you can suffer from analysis paralysis.
But I think (oh no!) that it would better be expressed as Pause, Pause, Pause. Don’t live as a reactionary. Stop long enough to consider the will of your Higher Power in the situation. Play the tape through. That’s just my perspective. And I appreciate your comments.

Pause pause pause would be sweet! This would also coincide with our literature. Your perspective is right on for me. And play the tape through, indeed. I want to growl like a feral cat when I hear people say “stop the tape” or “throw the tape out” like we have the ability to unlearn that shite. I mean, c’mon, I still sleep in the ~fetal~ position!
I appreciate your words to comment on.

I had someone tell me tonight that the poster on the wall that says “Think, Think, Think,” was designed in a very special way by the founders and claimed that his source on this was from the book “AA Comes of Age.” He said that the word think is written small and grey above and below the central word Think. The central word is large and ornately decorated. I will have to go back and look at it. He said that this symbolized letting our little grey thinking be empowered by the Higher Powers Big Beautiful thinking. Mike, are you reading this blog? Anyway, I have no reason to doubt his interpretation.

I’ve been to clubhouses in several states and have only seen “Think, Think, Think” in a few of them. Perhaps this is because of the confusion/minsinterpretation? I still like “Pause, Pause, Pause”! (And BTW, I can’t envision HP thinking!)

think about what you are going to do.
think about what you are doing
think about what you just did.
these were instructions that came with a new calculator that an early aa member sent to the existing groups of the day.
i guess he thought them appropriate.
check the very early history of aa online.

I’ve heard almost all of these and agree with most except the one about sharing for more than three minutes. When I share for five minutes, everyone is on the edge of their seat! Lol
After further reflection, I should Keep coming Back.
